What Is Cash-Based Physical Therapy?
Personalized Care Focused on You
Cash-based physical therapy is a payment model in which patients pay directly for their physical therapy services rather than having the clinic bill health insurance.
At Precision Point PT, this model allows us to focus on your individual needs, goals, and progress through personalized, one-on-one care. We provide mobile physical therapy in the comfort of your home or another approved treatment location in Manassas, Virginia, and surrounding communities.
Benefits of Cash-Based Physical Therapy
Personalized, one-on-one attention
Your treatment is tailored to your symptoms, functional limitations, and recovery goals.
Individualized treatment plans
We develop a plan based on your evaluation, preferences, and response to treatment.
Direct payment
You pay Precision Point PT directly for the services you receive, without us billing your health insurance.
Mobile physical therapy
Receive care in your home or another approved treatment location, where appropriate.
Integrated treatment options
Depending on your needs, treatment may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, mobility training, patient education, and Integrative Dry Needling (IDN) when appropriate.
Does Cash-Based PT Mean I Cannot Use Insurance?
Not necessarily. Precision Point PT does not bill health insurance directly. Depending on your insurance plan, you may be able to submit a detailed receipt, sometimes called a superbill, for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your plan’s benefits, coverage rules, and documentation requirements. Contact your insurer before treatment to ask about out-of-network physical therapy benefits, deductibles, and reimbursement.
Cash payment also does not automatically make a service eligible for Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) reimbursement. Check your plan administrator’s requirements.
Do I Need a Physician Referral?
Virginia allows eligible patients to access physical therapy without first obtaining a physician referral, subject to applicable state law and direct-access requirements.
Certain circumstances may require additional consent and communication with another healthcare practitioner. Insurance plans may also have separate requirements for reimbursement.
Who Can Benefit?
Cash-based physical therapy may be appropriate for people seeking help with:
Neck, mid-back, and low-back pain
Shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle pain
Headaches and posture-related concerns
TMJ-related pain and movement limitations
Sports-related injuries
Chronic pain and mobility limitations
Strength, balance, and movement goals
We also offer appropriate wellness and preventive services focused on mobility, exercise, strength, and physical function.
