Patient Information, Referrals & Wellness Services
Precision Point PT provides cash-based, mobile physical therapy in Manassas, Virginia, and surrounding communities. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, or looking to maintain mobility and physical function, our goal is to provide personalized care that supports your needs.
Virginia Direct Access to Physical Therapy
Virginia law allows eligible patients to access physical therapy without first obtaining a physician referral, subject to applicable state requirements.
If you are currently receiving care from a healthcare practitioner specified in Virginia law for the same symptoms, additional requirements apply under Virginia Code § 54.1-3482(B).
These include:
Identifying the practitioner currently treating you for those symptoms.
Providing written consent authorizing the release of relevant health information to that practitioner.
Allowing Precision Point PT to notify that practitioner no later than 14 days after physical therapy treatment begins and provide a copy of the initial physical therapy evaluation and the patient history obtained by the physical therapist.
These requirements support communication and coordination among your healthcare providers.
A referral may also be appropriate based on your clinical needs or other applicable requirements. If your condition requires evaluation by another healthcare professional, we will recommend appropriate follow-up.
Wellness & Preventive Physical Therapy
Physical therapy can also support people who want to maintain their mobility, improve physical function, and address movement limitations before they interfere with daily activities.
Precision Point PT offers individualized wellness and preventive services that may include:
Mobility and flexibility: Improve joint movement and address restrictions that affect daily activities.
Strength and conditioning: Develop strength, stability, and physical capacity for everyday activities and exercise.
Posture and movement education: Identify modifiable movement habits and develop strategies for more comfortable movement.
Injury prevention: Address strength, balance, mobility, and movement limitations that may contribute to injury risk.
Activity and exercise guidance: Develop an individualized exercise plan based on your goals and current abilities.
Maintenance care: Support continued function and self-management after rehabilitation when clinically appropriate.
Wellness services are tailored to your goals and may include exercise, mobility training, movement education, and other appropriate interventions.
Do Wellness Services Require a Referral?
General fitness, wellness, and preventive exercise services may be distinct from physical therapy services regulated under Virginia law. However, the classification depends on the actual services provided, not simply the name of the appointment.
When services involve physical therapy evaluation or treatment within the scope of your PT license, applicable Virginia practice and direct-access requirements continue to apply. Calling an appointment a wellness service does not automatically exempt it from those requirements.
Information for Referring Providers
Precision Point PT welcomes collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
With appropriate patient authorization, we can communicate relevant evaluation findings, treatment progress, and recommendations to support coordinated care.
We accept referrals for patients who may benefit from individualized physical therapy, movement rehabilitation, or appropriate wellness services.
Cash-Based Care
Precision Point PT operates on a cash-pay basis and does not bill health insurance directly. Payment is the patient’s responsibility. Patients may request a detailed receipt to submit to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement; reimbursement is not guaranteed.
